Once again, I post here my choices for the National Football League players that I believe are deserving of being in the NFL Pro Bowl. As mentioned many times before, the issue comes down to largely a popularity contest -- mostly due to fan voting, and even a name recognition contest -- as opposed to more substantive evaluations of players' performances. And these factors affect players' salaries, bonuses, and ultimately even their consideration for the Hall of Fame. The original inspiration for these lists was a televised game broadcast with a graphic comparing inside linebackers London Fletcher and Ray Lewis; over a certain period, their statistics were remarkably similar (and a couple of Fletcher's slightly better), yet Fletcher had never been to a single Pro Bowl while Lewis was selected nearly every year of his career.
